Criminal Defense Attorney

Our busy law firm is growing, and we are looking for talent that works hard to represent our clients well. The prime candidate will work seamlessly with both senior partners as well as administrative staff in an effort to effectively serve clients. If you have excellent research and writing skills, can easily use today’s technology, and communicate effectively across all levels, we would love to connect! Responsibilities: • Identify client conflicts and determine case strategies with options for resolution • Argue motions in court on behalf of clients during legal proceedings • Manage administrative assistants, paralegals, and law clerks • Counsel clients by assessing options and determining the best course of action for a successful outcome • Get the appropriate legal documents ready for clients, such as brief, motions, and pleadings, as well as correspondence • Passion for lawyering and being in the courtroom making a difference • Honesty is critical and good ethical character is essential • Love connecting with people • Passionate about helping others • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment • Treats a 4:30 call on Friday with the same care and compassion as one on Monday morning • Exceptional curiosity - Ownership mindset Qualifications: • Public speaking, decision-making, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills are necessary for this role • Well-versed in legal research software (Westlaw/Lexis) • Graduation from law school with Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree and experience in representing clients for at least 2 years • Must be able to handle heavy caseload with little supervision • Jobseekers should be a member of their local bar association - active member preferred Association • Qualified candidates will have 3+ years of experience • Former prosecution experience strongly preferred (we are all former prosecutors!) • Admitted to practice law in Tennessee • Criminal law experience is a plus • Experience in other law firms or government legal departments is a plus • At least 3 years of criminal law experience preferred Compensation: $110,000 DOE • Passion for lawyering and being in the courtroom making a difference • Honesty is critical and good ethical character is essential • Love connecting with people • Passionate about helping others • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment • Treats a 4:30 call on Friday with the same care and compassion as one on Monday morning • Exceptional curiosity - Ownership mindset Compensation: $110,000 per year #J-18808-Ljbffr Andrew C Beasley PLLC
