Job Summary:

This role is responsible for the successful execution of warehousing activities. The position requires the ability to develop, implement, control and adjust branch plans to implement the company's growth strategy while simultaneously leading the team to achieve operational goals and efficiency targets for the branch. The focus and scope of this job is to ensure that the branch:

• Successfully execute the company's strategic plan in a comprehensive and systematic manner.
• Develops, implements, and executes coordinated strategies and tactical plans to improve the operational performance of the department and branch.
• Achieves operating results that align with the branch's growth goals.
• Demonstrates a safety-first culture meeting or exceeding improvement targets.

Essential Duties:

• Ensures all employees are trained and proficient at standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all warehouse functions.
• Ensures the accuracy of the inventory data in the SXe system.
• Assists General Managers with warehouse space optimization.
• Manages the maintenance for warehouse equipment, rolling stock, docks and roofing.
• Proficient in and trains employees to efficiency tools such as Direct Route and People Net use.
• Ensures that cycle counting is taking place on a regular basis and tracks performance.
• Protects the assets of the company by implementing appropriate security and process controls.
• Active in the hiring, training, coaching and discipline of warehouse associates.

Familiarity with building materials, door components and assembly techniques. Basic analytical, reasoning, and math abilities. Basic verbal communication skills.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Manages a team of associates. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Warehouse department. Ensures the safety of all employees through diligent execution of the company's safety program. Ensures all supervisory responsibilities are carried out in accordance with corporate policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree preferred and three to five years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Successful candidates must have a successful track record of leadership. Experience in the millwork and building materials industry is desirable.

Language Skills:

Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret common technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Additionally, must have the ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers or members of the business community. As required, this person will make presentations to the Senior Leadership Team, and public groups.

Other Skills/Certification:

Experience in managerial assignments in the distribution industry is desirable. Proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly Word and Excel). Experience in interpreting financial statements and the budgeting process.

Use of hands to feel, manipulate, or handle; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Frequently standing and walking. Frequent lifting of 50-85 pounds and/or pushing 100 pounds.
