Medical Technologist - Microbiology

This is a 13-week contract position.

5x8-hour shifts, from 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM (Monday to Friday), with rotating weekends and holidays.

The Medical Technologist supports high-quality laboratory testing in a clinical laboratory, specifically within microbiology. Responsibilities include preparing specimens for testing, performing routine and specialized laboratory tests, performing quality control, troubleshooting laboratory instruments, and communicating technical information.

• Perform culture reading, identification, and susceptibility testing.
• Conduct Gram stain reading, plating, and rapid PCR setup.
• Assist with training laboratory personnel in routine procedures.
• Participate in continuing education and quality control procedures.
• Model Standards of Behavior in daily interactions and activities.

• Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology or relevant medical/scientific discipline.
• Certification as a Medical Technologist by ASCP BOC or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of experience in microbiology preferred.
• Experience in Gram stains, plating, and rapid molecular testing required.
