Brief Job Overview This position manages IT projects involving the development and implementation of business processes in technology to meet identified business needs, acquiring and utilizing the necessary resources and skills within agreed parameters of cost, timescale, and quality. The role uses project management methodologies tailored to each project, selecting between predictive (plan‑driven) or adaptive (iterative/agile) approaches. Responsibilities Takes full responsibility for defining, approaching, facilitating, and completing medium‑scale and large‑scale projects with direct business impact. Identifies, assesses, and manages risks to project success. Ensures realistic project plans are maintained and communicates regularly and accurately to stakeholders. Adopts appropriate project management methods and tools, choosing between predictive and adaptive approaches. Ensures quality reviews occur on schedule and according to procedure. Manages change control and ensures deliverables are completed within agreed cost, timescale, and resource budgets, and are signed off. Provides effective leadership to the project team and takes action when performance deviates from tolerances. Monitors and controls resources, revenue, and capital costs against the project budget and manages stakeholder expectations. Ensures end results are of the highest caliber with a clearly articulated scope and quantifiable business benefits. Leads and manages projects often involving multiple internal and external constituents and matrix partners. Manages scope and risk, ensuring commitments are achieved within agreed time, cost, and quality parameters. Monitors, controls, and validates financial forecast, resources, and capital costs against the project budget; reconciles related expenditures with stakeholders. Develops communication plans and tools to execute responsibilities. Represents the project in briefings to sponsors, key stakeholders, governance, and inter‑department forums. Defines and tracks milestones while developing, maintaining, and reporting an integrated project schedule and delivery plan. Develops project charter, integrated project plan, resource plan, risk plan, and related artifacts; publishes periodic status reports. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field. Minimum five (5) years of demonstrated outcomes delivery across diverse high‑value IT projects, with at least three (3) years of hands‑on project management in an IT environment managing complex projects. Fluent oral and written communication, capable of presenting complex information to technical and non‑technical audiences. Proven experience managing multiple projects within scope, schedule, and budget. Exceptional interpersonal, facilitation, and client‑expectation management skills. Decision‑making skills grounded in organizational and stakeholder best interests. Experience resolving problems, managing corrective actions, lessons learned, and disseminating relevant information. Proficiency in vendor and contract management. Additional Desired Preferences Ability to plan, schedule, and monitor work to meet time and quality targets. Facilitates collaboration among stakeholders with shared objectives. Selects appropriate standards, methods, tools, and applications. Seeks specialist knowledge or advice when required to support own or colleagues’ work. Experience implementing stakeholder engagement and communications plans. Experience collecting and using stakeholder feedback to measure effectiveness of stakeholder management. Experience developing and enhancing customer and stakeholder relationships. Preferred PMP or Scrum certification. Supervisory Responsibilities None; this is an individual contributor role.
