Principal Mechanical Design Engineer

Principal Mechanical Engineer – Radar Mechanical Design Department Location: Marlborough, MA or Tewksbury, MA (onsite). Security clearance: U.S. citizenship required; active Secret clearance necessary. What You Will Do Lead mechanical design, development, and integration of phased array radar systems, electronic modules, pedestals, and power & cooling systems. Develop technical solutions across the product life cycle—proposal, design, manufacture, integration, and test. Apply transition-to-production practices and lead the design release into production. Provide technical guidance, remove roadblocks, and meet cost, schedule, quality, and performance goals. Lead a small team of mechanical engineers as needed. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and coordinate with engineering, operations, quality, and program offices. Qualifications Degree in STEM or advanced degree with minimum 5‑10 years of relevant experience. Experience designing radar architecture or electronics packaging for military or aerospace programs. Proficiency with GD&T, ANSI drawing standards, and first‑order or structural analysis. Experience with CREO (Pro/ENGINEER) or similar 3D solid modeling software. Knowledge of IC and CT manufacturing support and producibility. Familiarity with military standards and design to specifications. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Preferred Qualifications Advanced degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Aerospace Engineering. Experience with CCAs, mechanical/RF components, metal housings, structures, and electronics assemblies. Compensation & Benefits Salary range: $107,500 – $204,500.
