Overview

Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to obstetric patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
- Monitor fetal status and maternal condition; perform fetal heart monitoring and respond to changes per policy; collaborate with the care team to adjust plans as needed.
- Administer medications and assist with labor, delivery, postpartum care, and cesarean births as appropriate; ensure patient safety, comfort, and privacy.
- Document all patient care in the medical record accurately and timely; educate patients and families about care plans, procedures, and discharge instructions.
- Coordinate with physicians, charge nurses, and other team members; participate in unit committees and uphold professional standards and hospital policies.
- Maintain required certifications and licensure; adhere to no-call expectations and clinical competency requirements for L&D.

Requirements
- Current active RN license in the state of practice (California)
- Graduate of an approved school of nursing
- Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in an acute care setting
- Certifications: BLS and ACLS; Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 6 months of hire; AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring required on hire and every two years; AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring course during first 6–8 months if new to L LDRP model familiarity; no on-call required
- Ability to work in an obstetric/L&D setting with adherence to all applicable policies and patient safety standards
