Commissioning Manager

Praetorian Power Protection has partnered with one of our General Contractor clients to identify a highly capable Commissioning Manager to support our mission-critical group in Reno, Nevada. We’re looking for a hands-on leader with deep technical knowledge and proven experience managing complex commissioning efforts in the field. Key Responsibilities Develop and manage a comprehensive commissioning plan and integrated schedule covering inspection, startup, testing, and closeout phases. Lead commissioning field activities and direct internal teams, subcontractors, and vendors, while ensuring safety compliance with NFPA 70E and LOTO requirements. Implement and oversee commissioning management software tools (such as BIM360, ACC Build, and CxAlloy) to track documentation and execution. Coordinate with client and client’s commissioning agent to define and deliver project-specific requirements, test scripts, and turnover documentation. Manage technical reviews, including MEP systems, QA/QC coordination, load bank planning, equipment startup, and factory witness testing. Act as a subject matter expert in design reviews, scope matrix development, budgeting, and script feasibility for high-performance building systems. Qualifications Technical engineering degree or equivalent hands-on technical experience (minimum 5 years). Experience leading commissioning activities for large-scale construction projects, preferably data centers or other mission-critical environments. Strong experience commissioning L2 – L5. Broad expertise across mechanical, electrical, and control systems (BMS, BAS). Familiarity with NFPA 70E and development/implementation of LOTO programs.
