Provides guidance and direction to crews in budgeting and scheduling. Ensures job quality and customer satisfaction is maintained at every project stage. Strong relationship building skills with clients, customers, and vendors to cultivate a positive work environment. In addition to supervisory responsibility, this position is that of a working superintendent, responsible for directly performing a wide range of skilled construction tasks. Essential Functions:Supervises field crew, subcontractor and craft activities, including determining method of construction, manpower levels, material quantities equipment, mechanical and plumbing sources, scheduling and documentationCoordinates work of different crafts, company departments, and/or other contractorsPerforms a wide range of skilled construction tasksActs as liaison with engineering, estimating, and project teams, to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and scheduling is being metCoordinates with other departments (i.e., Quality Control and Engineering) to ensure all required materials and equipment, inspections, and support craft activities Resolves problems in a variety of construction issues, including productivity monitoring, craft compliance with project safety program requirements; documenting and implementing corrective actionPerforms other duties as assigned Supervisory Responsibility: Yes Required:7+ years previous experience as a General Foreman, General Superintendent and/or equivalent combination of vocational training and experienceAbility to successfully supervise large crew (20+)Prior experience supervising large teamsPrevious knowledge of man hour reports, job cost reports, workforce planning and estimatingAdvanced understanding of construction cost control, forecasting and setting goalsStrong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to work across varied disciplinesAbility to effectively present information to customers, clients and colleaguesOSHA 30 and CPRDemonstrated knowledge of, reading, interpreting and working to:Design drawings (isometric and orthographic), design guides, specificationsSupport Drawings and specificationsContract documents and site coordination of subcontractorsMust be able to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, show attention to detail, and demonstrate problem-solving skillsMust adhere to all company policy and proceduresMust be available to report to multiple job sites as assigned The work environment and physical demands required would be representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, and may include, but are not limited to the following:  Work Environment:May work in varying temperatures; both inside and outside, including inclement weather, heat, humidity, cold, and dampnessMay work in areas with exposure to moderate/high noise levelsMay be exposed to fumes or airborne particles including dustMay be required to work in confined spaces or from high heights Physical Demands:This role routinely uses construction equipment such as heavy machinery, hand and power tools While performing duties of the job the employee may work aloft, climb, bend, pull, reach overhead, stand/walk for long periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs.Frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and armsMust be able to correctly identify all colors of a color-coded cable/wires and see close vision, distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus Travel:May require travel (typically not overnight) Preferred:10 years' experience in a heavy mechanical construction environment as SuperintendentPrior military experience HS diploma or GED equivalent Visit us at for more information! Final compensation will be determined based on experience, education, licensure, skills, and other relevant factorsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.An Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer-Mechanical Superintendent - Commercial Construction
