About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: Must have active RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS preferred, NIHSS preferred Must-Have: - Minimum 1 year of experience in a medical surgical unit - Experience with patient ratios of 1:6 - Experience with charting using Epic - Ability to float between units Description: The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing care to patients in a medical surgical setting. The nurse will manage all aspects of tracheostomy care. The nurse will work with an interdisciplinary team, including Physical Therapy, Pharmacy, and Social Services. Patient care will involve diagnosing and treating various medical and surgical conditions. Candidates should be comfortable with managing complex patient care. Weekend shifts are required every other weekend. The nurse will be expected to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals. Daily patient census is approximately 35. The environment includes adults and geriatric patient populations. This role requires the ability to manage various medical equipment and perform specialized procedures as needed. Nurses will be involved in patient assessments, care planning, and patient education. Strong communication skills are essential for effective collaboration with team members and patient interactions. The ability to maintain professionalism and uphold patient confidentiality is crucial for this position. The role may include responsibilities related to managing and interpreting dysrhythmias and other urgent medical conditions. Candidates should be prepared to adhere to safety protocols and best practices for patient care.
