Role Summary The Human Resources Director is a strategic HR leader responsible for advancing the HR Business Partner function and strengthening employee relations practices across the organization. Reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources, this role will develop a team of HR Business Partners, establish consistent employee relations standards, and advise senior leaders on workforce planning, organizational effectiveness, change management, and complex people matters. This is an opportunity for an experienced HR leader to transform the HRBP team into proactive, trusted business advisors while building consistent and legally sound employee relations practices. The Human Resources Director will take a hands-on, player-coach approach, personally leading sensitive or high-risk matters while strengthening the tools, capabilities, and operating practices needed for long-term success. What You'll Do Lead, coach, and develop the HR Business Partner team, establishing clear expectations, accountability, and consistent service across company locations. Advance the HRBP function from transactional support to strategic partnership focused on workforce planning, organizational design, leadership capability, and change management. Own the company-wide employee relations framework, including investigation standards, documentation expectations, performance management practices, and escalation protocols. Personally lead complex, sensitive, or high-risk employee relations matters, partnering with legal counsel when appropriate. Advise the Vice President of Human Resources and senior leaders on workforce risks, organizational effectiveness, leadership challenges, and critical people decisions. Use employee relations trends, HR data, and KPIs to identify risks, strengthen leader capability, and continuously improve the HRBP function. Drive HR process improvement and digital transformation through Workday, HR reporting, Workday Help, and responsible AI-enabled tools. What You'll Bring Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field, with a master's degree preferred. At least 10 years of progressive Human Resources experience, including significant HR business partnering and employee relations leadership. At least five years of people-management experience with demonstrated success developing HR professionals and strengthening team capability. Advanced knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, investigations, performance management, and policy interpretation across multi-state operations. Demonstrated experience leading complex employee relations investigations, organization-wide change, and HR process improvement initiatives. Strong business acumen, judgment, and consultative skills, with the ability to influence and respectfully challenge senior leaders. Experience with Workday and within a manufacturing, multi-site, or multi-entity organization strongly preferred; bilingual English and Spanish capabilities are a plus.
