Our organization is actively looking for a fellowship-trained Heart Failure Specialist to become a part of the esteemed cardiac team at South Shore University Hospital, situated in Bay Shore, New York.

Over the past five years, our Department of Cardiology has experienced significant expansion across Long Island, New York City, and Westchester, aiming to deliver comprehensive and integrated healthcare and wellness services. South Shore University Hospital has emerged as a premier destination for residents of Suffolk County seeking exceptional care. In fact, it is the preferred choice for complex heart and lung treatments on the east end of Long Island. As the tertiary facility for our Eastern Region, we specialize in managing intricate heart failure cases and boast an extensive referral network. Our offerings include critical care, cardiac surgery, coronary and peripheral interventions, structural heart disease management, and advanced electrophysiology, enabling us to meet the growing demands of our heart failure patients.

The Advanced Heart Failure Program within our organization is a collaborative team comprising heart failure cardiologists, surgeons, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, and specialists in pharmacy, behavioral health, social work, exercise physiology, and nutrition. We provide a comprehensive range of services for advanced heart failure patients, including medical management, device therapies, and surgical interventions such as CardioMems™ implantation, cardiac resynchronization therapy, cardiac contractility technology, Barostim™, high-risk cardiac surgeries, and both temporary and durable mechanical circulatory support, including left ventricular assist devices (LVADs) and heart transplants. Additionally, we maintain an active clinical trials program, granting our patients access to cutting-edge research and innovative medical-device therapies. We also offer graduate medical education in all cardiology specialties, including advanced heart failure, and are proud to contribute to the education of future medical professionals at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell.

The perfect candidate will hold Board Certification or be Board Eligible in ABIM Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology. Experience in interpreting Cardiopulmonary Exercise Tests is an added advantage. The selected individual will primarily work at South Shore University Hospital, managing both inpatient and outpatient heart failure cases, with opportunities to engage at North Shore University Hospital in transplant and LVAD programs.
