Clinical Substance Use Professional (LSW, LPC, LICDC)

Zepf Center has been serving the Lucas County community for over 50 years. We are the leading provider of behavioral health and substance use disorder services in Northwest Ohio. Services include adult and child psychiatric, substance abuse, case management, residential, Crisis Care, and therapy programs, as well as career development and wellness services. Zepf Center also offers primary care medical services to our patients to contribute to their continuum of care. Zepf Center is a trauma-informed agency and environment for both patients and staff.
General Summary:
The SUD Residential Therapist is a vital member of our inpatient multidisciplinary team, responsible for providing specialized therapeutic services to individuals admitted to our inpatient substance use treatment program. The therapist will conduct assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, provide counseling, and facilitate group therapy sessions to support clients in their recovery journey.
Schedule: Four 10 hour shifts; 8am-6pm, rotating weekends and holidays. It is expected and essential for all employees to meet their regular work schedule. All employees within this department will be required to learn all aspects of their position even when tasks/responsibilities are divided among staff member and/or shifts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, American Society of Addiction Medicines Level of Care (ASAM LOC) to evaluate clients' substance use disorders, mental health needs, and related issues.
- Collaborate with the treatment team to develop individualized treatment plans that address identified needs and goals.
- Provide evidence-based individual therapy sessions to clients, utilizing therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI) from a trauma informed lens.
- Lead and facilitate group therapy sessions focusing on relapse prevention, coping skills development, and recovery support.
- Assist clients in accessing essential services, including medical care, housing, and social support.
- Monitor and coordinate referrals to external resources as needed for continued care.
- Offer crisis intervention and emotional support to clients experiencing acute distress or setbacks in their recovery process.
- Assist clients in developing healthy coping strategies to manage stress and cravings.
- Provide clients and their families with psychoeducation on addiction, recovery, and mental health.
- Collaborate with family members to support the client's treatment and recovery journey.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records, including progress notes, treatment plans, discharge planning and discharge summaries.
- Regularly assess and document client progress, adjusting treatment interventions as necessary.
- Collaborate effectively with the multidisciplinary treatment team, including nurses, psychiatrists, social workers, certified peers and other staff members. .
- Attend treatment team meetings to discuss client progress and treatment planning.
- Stay up to date with the latest developments in addiction treatment, therapeutic techniques, and best practices.
- Engage in ongoing professional development activities and training.

Position Qualifications:
Required
- Active LICDC or LPC/LSW license
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle and be insured under agency commercial policy
- CPR, First Aid and CPI Trained
Preferred
- Master’s Degree with an active Ohio LPC or LSW licensure.
- Demonstrated computer proficiency and literacy including proper documentation in an electronic health records system, and the use of Microsoft office products.
