Postdoctoral Fellow - Infectious Disease & Infection Control - Research

The Postdoctoral Fellow will conduct clinical research and data-focused activities within the Department of Infectious Diseases. This position will work closely with faculty investigators and research team members to support the development, implementation, analysis, and dissemination of clinical research projects. The Fellow will contribute to research involving clinical and patient-level data, with opportunities to develop independent research questions, analyze datasets, prepare scientific manuscripts and abstracts, and contribute to grant development.

All duties and responsibilities are carried out in compliance with institutional policies, ethical research standards, and applicable federal and state regulations.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
• Conduct prospective and retrospective clinical research studies and projects under the direction of faculty investigators.
• Develop research questions, study objectives, and analytical approaches in collaboration with investigators.
• Collect, organize, manage, and analyze clinical and research data from electronic medical records, research databases, and other approved data sources.
• Perform data cleaning, quality assessment, validation, and interpretation to ensure accuracy and completeness of research datasets.
• Assist with the development and maintenance of research databases and data collection tools.
• Conduct statistical and descriptive analyses of clinical and research data and assist with interpretation of findings.
• Perform literature reviews and synthesize relevant scientific evidence to support research projects.
• Prepare research findings for presentation at departmental meetings, scientific conferences, and professional meetings.
• Draft and contribute to manuscripts, abstracts, presentations, protocols, reports, and other scientific materials.
• Assist investigators with development of research protocols, data analysis plans, and study-related documentation.
• Contribute to grant proposals, including literature review, preliminary data development, research methods, and supporting documentation.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, research staff, statisticians, data analysts, and other members of multidisciplinary research teams.
• Participate in research meetings and contribute to the development and implementation of new research initiatives.
• Maintain appropriate research records and ensure that research activities are conducted in accordance with institutional policies, applicable regulations, and approved study protocols.
• Assist with interpretation and dissemination of research findings and identify opportunities for future research.
• Develop an independent research portfolio and demonstrate increasing responsibility for the design, analysis, and dissemination of research projects.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
PhD, MD, or equivalent doctoral degree in a relevant biomedical, clinical, epidemiological, public health, or related field.

POSITION INFORMATION
MD Anderson offers full-time postdoc positions with a salary ranging from $64,000 to $76,000 . depending on the number of years of postgraduate experience.
