Registered Nurse - Pediatric Transitional Care

Job Opportunity

Utilizes the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care. Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams; carries out established nursing procedures and performs related duties as required; performs nursing care for patients with more complex needs with assistance and supervision. Assists with the management of patient care administered by other members of the nursing team.

Responsibilities

Responsible for maintaining the knowledge and abilities essential to the performance of stated behaviors. Carries out legal responsibilities within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act. Accountable to the NURSE SVC SUPV 2 for overall work performance.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 1 year inpatient pediatric transitional care/step-down experience as a registered nurse, including experience in caring for complex populations with trach-vents, non-invasive ventilation (e.g. CPAP, BiPAP), solid organ transplants (e.g. kidney, liver)
• This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Licenses/Certifications

• Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
• Current healthcare provider CPR certification
• Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
