The Controller oversees all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, job costing, financial reporting, internal controls, and budget development. This role requires a strong leader with multi-entity experience and a deep understanding of the residential construction and investment landscape.

SUPERVISOR

Chief Financial Officer

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and manage the accounting team, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.

• Oversee financial reporting for multiple entities, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with company policies and industry best practices.

• Implement and maintain robust internal controls and accounting procedures.

• Manage job costing processes and ensure accurate tracking of project expenses.

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.

• Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and executives to provide financial insights and support strategic decisions.

• Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions.

• Drive process improvements and system enhancements to support scalability.

• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Knowledge of progressive accounting, including complex accounting functions and financial reporting.

• Ability to oversee accounting activities across multiple legal entities while maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance.

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, job costing, project accounting, and financial controls, preferably within the residential construction or real estate industry.

• Proven analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to identify issues, develop solutions, and improve processes.

• Ability to lead, coach, and develop accounting team members while fostering collaboration and accountability.

• Skilled in Microsoft 365 applications, including advanced Microsoft Excel; construction accounting software or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.

• Professional certification such as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

• Salary Range, dependent on experience, $105,000 - $130,000
