Your role will encompass addressing various communication and swallowing disorders across all age groups, from toddlers finding their first words to seniors reclaiming their independence. Your Responsibilities
- Perform thorough evaluations across pediatric, adult, and geriatric groups using standardized tests and observational insights.
- Craft individual treatment regimens that tackle immediate goals while considering long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing challenges.
- Deliver personalized speech therapy interventions targeting communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing enhancements.
- Collaborate with a dedicated team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and families to build integrated care plans.
- Provide education for patients and their families to foster progress beyond therapy hours.
- Occasionally contribute to inpatient evaluations and interventions, ensuring seamless care throughout each patient's journey.
- Keep comprehensive and accurate documentation per state, federal, and organizational standards.
- Commit to ongoing professional development through reading, attending seminars, and exchanging knowledge with peers.
- A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is required if not yet certified by ASHA.
- Possession of a valid state license as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within the first 30 days of employment.
- Expertise in evidence-based practices for all ages, coupled with deep knowledge of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing dysfunctions.
- Exceptional communication prowess when interacting with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to tailor therapy approaches to meet varying cultural and linguistic diversities.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in managing electronic medical records and documentation processes.
