Residential Construction Estimator/Purchaser

At Belmonte Builders, one of the Capital Region’s most respected and innovative homebuilders, we are looking for someone to join our Estimating & Purchasing. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who understands how homes are built and wants to make a meaningful impact behind the scenes.
What Youll Do
Estimating & Take-Offs
Prepare accurate material take-offs using estimating software
Review and interpret blueprints and construction documents
Update estimates and budgets to reflect change orders
Purchasing & Vendor Coordination
Issue purchase orders to vendors and subcontractors
Solicit and compare pricing for materials and upgrades
Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and trade partners
Sales & Customer Support
Price customer modifications and upgrade requests
Maintain pricing for standard home models and options
Develop and value-engineer attractive option packages
Construction Team Support
Generate work orders, reports, and project schedules
Communicate with Site Supervisors and Construction Managers
Ensure purchasing and change orders align with construction schedules
Process Improvement
Maintain databases and pricing tools
Enhance Excel spreadsheets and systems to improve efficiency
What Were Looking For
Required Skills & Experience
2–3 years of residential construction, estimating, or purchasing experience
Ability to read and interpret architectural plans and blueprints
Knowledge of residential building materials and construction practices
Strong organizational and communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook
Preferred Qualifications
Hands-on construction experience
Familiarity with Sage Estimating or similar software
Understanding of framing methods and roof truss design
Experience with databases and pricing systems
