Travel Registered Nurse MICU Job

Overview
Registered Nurse – MICU in a hospital setting located in Atlanta, Georgia. Start date: 11/02/2026. This travel (temporary assignment) position runs for 13 weeks, with guaranteed 36 hours per week and a night-shift schedule of 12-hour shifts (12x3). The MICU is a 30-bed unit caring for medically complex patients requiring advanced critical care, including sepsis, heart failure, hypertensive emergencies, respiratory failure, COPD, and chronic kidney disease, with Ventilator support and IV drips common in this fast-paced environment. ACLS and BLS are required, along with 2+ years of ICU experience.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill medical patients in the MICU, including those on ventilators and IV drips.
- Perform frequent patient assessments, monitor hemodynamics, deliver medications and vasoactive drips with careful titration, and adjust care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
- Respond to clinical changes, manage airway and ventilator settings, and participate in rapid response and code events as appropriate.
- Monitor labs, imaging, and treatment responses; support sepsis, heart failure, hypertensive emergencies, respiratory failure, COPD, and CKD-related care.
- Document care accurately in the electronic medical record and communicate changes to physicians, families, and ancillary staff.
- Ensure adherence to infection control practices, patient safety standards, and unit protocols in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in Georgia
- 2+ years of MICU/ICU experience
- ACLS and BLS certifications
- Ventilator management and IV drip experience
- Ability to work night shifts (Night 12x3) in a fast-paced MICU setting
- Education: RN degree (baccalaureate or associate degree accepted)
