Job Type: Contract Job Description

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Tooling with strong experience in fixture design, manufacturing engineering, and production support. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience designing and developing manufacturing, assembly, welding, and inspection fixtures using SolidWorks.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design and development of manufacturing, assembly, welding, and inspection fixtures using SolidWorks.
Create 3D fixture layouts, assemblies, and fabrication drawings using GD&T.
Collaborate with Manufacturing and Quality teams to validate fixture designs, support production trials, and resolve shop-floor issues.
Drive process capability, productivity, quality, and cost improvements through fixture and process optimization.
Develop and maintain standardized work instructions covering fixture usage, operator guidance, and safety.
Conduct time studies and motion studies to establish cycle times and improve workstation efficiency.
Perform line balancing and takt-time analysis to optimize production processes and workstation layouts.
Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities through fixture development and process refinement.
Provide ongoing shop-floor and production engineering support to troubleshoot tooling and manufacturing issues.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, process optimization, and cost reduction .

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering , or a related discipline.
3 8 years of relevant Manufacturing or Tooling Engineering experience .
Strong hands-on experience with fixture design and development .
Strong proficiency in SolidWorks CAD .
Experience creating 3D fixture layouts, assemblies, and fabrication drawings .
Strong knowledge of GD&T .
Experience with time studies, motion studies, line balancing, takt time, and cycle-time optimization .
Experience providing production/shop-floor support .
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and process improvement .

Preferred Qualifications

Experience designing welding, assembly, and inspection fixtures .
Experience with NPI and manufacturing process optimization .
Knowledge of process capability and continuous improvement methodologies .
Experience developing standardized work instructions .
Experience with workstation layout and ergonomic/process optimization .
Experience with cost reduction initiatives and productivity improvements.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a manufacturing environment.
