Field Service Technician

My client is a leader in the agricultural packaging machine industry and seeks an exceptional candidate to do field service, installation, and customer training activities on agricultural packaging equipment. A successful candidate will have demonstrated exceptional electrical, electronic sensors, mechanical skills, and conveyor systems. Ideally, it would be nice to have someone with a certification in electronics and experience programming PLC’s. The position involves fieldwork with a variety of customers in the Northeast and some on the Eastern Seaboard (20-25% travel) Some by air and some drivable. A company vehicle is available for trips by car. 75% of the time would be in the shop on machine builds, testing, machine tear-down and crating for shipment. Also, some components come in from customers that need repair or recalibration. Technical skills required: At least 5 years of experience as a Field Service Technician with some type of automated machines/equipment. Strong electrical knowledge and skills, with an understanding of and ability to wire electrical panels. Strong knowledge of equipment mechanics with strong mechanical skills to fix equipment and conveyor systems, Very strong diagnosis, trouble-shooting, and technical problem-solving skills A positive mindset, strong character, and excellent interpersonal skills to build strong, long-lasting, and positive relationships with customers and co-workers. A team mindset and approach to work, and the ability to effectively work independently with very limited oversight and direction. A strong ability to effectively handle stress and to overcome obstacles. An entrepreneurial mindset with an interest in developing skills that support equipment sales.
