Our exceptional health center staff drives our mission forward by upholding our acclaimed customer service & confidentiality standards, and working to create a safe, judgement-free space for anyone seeking Planned Parenthood services.About Our Medical Receptionist PositionUnder the supervision and direction of the Health Center Manager, provides support to patients and co-workers by performing, with accuracy and timeliness, a variety of clinical and administrative tasks in different areas of the health center.What Will You Be Doing!Responding to patient requests and coordinating services. Answering questions, providing patient education and referrals. Providing excellent customer service to patients and co-workers. Assisting with keeping appointments on time and optimizing the flow. Performing all front office responsibilities as required by the health center.Key Responsibilities:Assisting patients by responding to requests and coordinating services from appropriate personnel or departments as needed.Establishes and prepares documents for patient records and patient services; completes patient insurance information and enters visit data into affiliate systems.Provides non-judgmental, client-centered care, and provides accurate information by answering questions and providing appropriate resources.Utilizes comprehensive knowledge of birth control methods and reproductive health services to provide patient education. Provides Planned Parenthood Patient Education Sheets (PES) and Informed Consent Forms (ICF) and offers Planned Parenthood services or community resources for identified patient needs.Provides patients and co-workers with excellent customer service in all interactions and tasks. Utilizes service recovery when appropriate and seeks assistance from co-workers or the health center manager to ensure resolution.Completing all functions of patient check-in including income screening, explanation of funding, and payment options. Explaining the different types of coverage or funding available to the patient and refers patients for assistance with health care insurance sign up when appropriate.Optimizes patient satisfaction and efficient use of provider time by providing patient education appropriate to each type of visit.Keeps appointments on schedule through ongoing communication with the PCTL, the clinician and the health center manager.Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.Records and collects patient payments and solicits donations. Follows organizational guidelines to improve collections and minimize uncompensated care.Acts as a resource for other staff members, supports and participates in ongoing learning and development of the staff team in the health center.Maintains safe and clean working environment by adhering to and complying with infection and exposure control procedures; OSHA, WISHA, CLIA, PPFA, and affiliate policies and procedures.Minimum Qualifications:High school diplomaOne to two years' experience in a medical setting.Travel to other health centers.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with reproductive healthcare in a clinical office or hospital setting with knowledge of EHR.Salary Range:$21.30 - $26.47 hourlyPosition Type:Full-time – Mon - FridayThis is a split role between Puyallup and Federal Way.This is a union role – United Food and Commercial Workers 3000Benefits Eligibility:This position is eligible for PPGNHAIK benefits.
