Litigation Legal Assistant Chicago Loop, IL Hybrid after 90 days: 4 days in-office, 1 remote Salary: $60,000 - $85,000 A leading downtown Chicago law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant to support attorneys and paralegals in a fast-paced litigation practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a polished legal support professional with strong litigation experience, exceptional organizational skills, and a client-service mindset. Key Responsibilities: Provide proactive administrative support to litigation attorneys and paralegals Prepare, revise, format, and proofread legal documents, correspondence, pleadings, discovery, and memoranda File court documents electronically with various courts Monitor calendars, deadlines, and docket activity Coordinate meetings, depositions, conference calls, and calendar invites Manage client contacts, emails, print documents, and incoming/outgoing mail Process reimbursements and payment requests Maintain, organize, and retire files in accordance with records policies Communicate professionally with court personnel, attorneys, staff, and clients Transcribe dictation and assist with drafting filings and other legal documents Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism Qualifications: 5+ years of litigation legal assistant experience in a law firm or legal setting Strong knowledge of litigation procedures and general court operations Experience with electronic court filings Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Experience with document management and legal software such as iManage, InTapp, Kofax/Nuance, LMS+ , or similar platforms preferred Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize urgent requests Additional education or legal coursework preferred Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package includes: Health, dental, and vision insurance Life and disability coverage 401(k) with company match Generous paid parental leave Backup childcare and eldercare support Paid time off Potential bonus opportunities based on firm performance If you’re a highly organized litigation legal assistant looking for a strong firm culture, excellent benefits, and a hybrid work arrangement, we’d love to connect.
