Assistant Manager - Fitness

Responsibilities Establish and maintain strong client relationships to ensure program success and satisfaction. Develop strategic annual plans, achieving both short- and long‑term program goals. Oversee budgeting, reporting, and financial management for fitness programs and operations. Recruit, hire, train, and supervise full- and part‑time staff, while fostering team growth and managing performance. Lead and oversee personal training and group exercise programs, ensuring high-quality service and client engagement. Mentor and guide college interns, providing professional development opportunities. Design, deliver, and evaluate health promotion initiatives, incentive programs, and specialty offerings. Conduct fitness assessments, develop exercise prescriptions, and provide first workouts for diverse populations, including high-risk participants. Supervise and monitor the exercise floor to ensure a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment. Manage administrative processes, including membership enrollments, terminations, and member inquiries. Perform additional duties as needed to support the fitness center’s operations. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of management experience overseeing a large staff, preferably in the fitness or hospitality industry. Bachelor’s degree in an exercise‑related field (e.g., Kinesiology, Exercise Science, etc.). Current, nationally recognized personal training certification (e.g., ACE, NASM, NSCA, or equivalent). Outgoing personality with excellent communication and leadership skills. Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications. Per pay transparency requirements, the compensation for this position ranges from $20 - $30/hour. Minimum rates may vary based on local wage laws. Pay is dependent on factors including site location, specialty, certifications and work experience as well as other business needs.
