Shipping and Receiving ClerkThis role is as a Shipping and Receiving Clerk in support of the Government Property and Logistics Organization for the Contract for Organizing Spaceflight Mission Operations and Systems (COSMOS) which is NASA's next-generation mission operations contract located on-site at Johnson Space Center. COSMOS ensures the continuity of critical human spaceflight support by providing mission control services, advanced training systems, and full-scale spacecraft mockups for astronaut preparation and engineering analysis.The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for receiving inspections and delivery operations in support of COSMOS in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). This role performs shipping, receiving, and delivery duties, performs inspections of items delivered to the warehouse, verifies shipping and receiving documentation, and ensures timely delivery of materials and services. The candidate should have a good understanding of the logistics organization from shipping, receipt, delivery and completion of any documentation.Successful candidates will:Obtain and process product orders, including receiving deliveries, registering them and distributing packages and letters within the companyPossess physical strength necessary to lift and move heavy boxesUtilize pallet jacks, reach trucks, and order pickers to move and organize inventoryLoad and unload shipments from trucks or containersPrepare and package orders safely for shipmentMaintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing shipmentsCollaborate with other team members to ensure efficient workflowDevelop and maintain strong relationships with end users to support program needsFollow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environmentPossess strong team-building skills across multi-functional areas that establish a collaborative operational structure including active listening, prompt service and follow-upExhibit proven track record of working under pressureHave excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Exhibit professional behavior that promotes teamwork, fosters cooperation, and enhances productivity in the workplace.Be able to obtain various certifications as required and open to additional learning opportunitiesJob Requirements:Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience: HS Diploma (or GED) and 4 years of general experience; Associate's degree and 2 years of general experience; Bachelor's/Master's degree and 1 year of general experience.Must have 3 years of direct experience in shipping/receiving and supply chain fieldsMust be able to obtain a NASA Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Badge for NASA credentialsDesired Requirements:Experience with Office 365 ToolsExperience with Deltek Costpoint or other supply chain toolThis position is expected to pay $50K-$60K annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, national origin, disability, veteran status, age, marital status, pregnancy, genetic information, or other legally protected status.Final compensation is determined through a comprehensive evaluation of several key factors, including the candidate's educational background, specialized technical expertise, and relevant professional experience.
