Return to Work Coordinator (Management Analyst I)

Return to Work Assistant Assists in a broad range of human resources functions, including but not limited to status management of staff on light duty and injury leave, administration of employee benefits under the Uniform Retirement System, and coordination of leave administration for Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Paid Family Leave (PFL), Leave of Absence (LOA), Workers Compensation (WC), and OSHA reporting. Provides support in performance management tracking, job description maintenance for Alternative Placement (AP) positions and Uniform Civilian Positions (UCF), and system administration for JDMS, NEOGOV, Focus HCM, and Payroll Contact. Key Responsibilities Maintain and update return‑to‑work section reports and injury trend data. Assist with the monitoring, reporting, and analysis of departmental business processes and outcomes. Collect, synthesize, and analyze data to support project and program objectives, including quality, quantity, and efficiency metrics. Conduct research, administer surveys, and facilitate focus groups to gather information. Support the development and implementation of business improvements, such as policy revisions and process changes. Compile and present business information to management, including position papers, evaluation reports, and presentations. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Basic knowledge of organizational mission, goals, and objectives. Ability to identify and propose solutions to business problems. Proficiency in fact‑finding techniques such as interviews, observation, research, and benchmarking. Skill in aggregating data to identify patterns and trends. Effective oral and written communication. Expertise with word processing, spreadsheet, and statistical analysis software. Ability to train, lead, and/or supervise paraprofessional staff. Minimum Qualifications Graduation from an accredited four‑year college or university with a bachelor’s degree related to the assigned functional area, or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training. Four years of increasingly complex technical experience in the assigned functional area may serve as a bridge class qualification, allowing individuals who do not meet the educational standard to qualify for this position. Preferred Qualifications Experience with HRIS systems. Basic understanding of labor laws, regulations, and county and state payroll policies. Knowledge of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Strong communication skills and the ability to resolve complex issues. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, and Excel. Experience performing audits of time and attendance reports. Knowledge of benefits and leave regulations for FMLA, Light Duty, Workers Compensation, and OSHA reporting standards. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.; ability to sit at a desk for extended periods; ability to use multi‑line telephone, keyboard‑driven equipment, and copier.
