Controller Location: Hybrid (3-4 days/week) Overview A private equity-backed organization within the manufacturing sector is seeking a senior accounting leader to oversee its finance and accounting operations. This individual will report directly to executive leadership and play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and scalability of financial reporting and processes across a multi-entity environment. Responsibilities Lead the overall accounting function, including general ledger, close process, and financial reporting Oversee audit, tax compliance, and internal controls across the organization Manage shared services functions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable Ensure compliance with lending agreements and financial reporting requirements Partner cross-functionally to support operational and financial performance Analyze financial results, identify trends, and provide insights to leadership Support process improvements, system enhancements, and ongoing scalability initiatives Oversee inventory accounting and cost-related activities within a manufacturing environment Develop and mentor a team of accounting professionals Qualifications 10 years of progressive accounting or finance experience Prior leadership experience within a manufacturing environment Experience working in a private equity-backed organization Strong understanding of financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance Experience operating in a multi-entity or complex organizational structure CPA or equivalent is a plus Additional Notes This role requires a hands-on leader with the ability to operate both strategically and tactically Experience with system implementations or process transformations is beneficial Strong collaboration with cross-functional teams, including finance and operations, is expected Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
