Accounts Receivable Specialist (B2B Collections)

Location: Independence, OH (Must reside locally)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Work Arrangement: On-site training for 1 week, then fully remote
Pay Rate: Starting at $17.00/hour
Job Type: Long-Term Contract with Strong Potential for Permanent Hire

Job Overview

We are seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join a growing team focused on B2B collections . In this role, you will work directly with business customers to manage outstanding account balances, facilitate payments, and ensure accounts remain current. This is a professional collections environment with no consumer collections involved.

The ideal candidate will have experience in accounts receivable, billing, or collections, along with strong communication and organizational skills. Experience with SAP is a plus, but training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

• Contact business customers regarding outstanding balances and facilitate payment arrangements.
• Manage B2B collection activities while maintaining positive customer relationships.
• Release past-due orders when appropriate or provide clear explanations when orders cannot be released.
• Accurately document all customer interactions and collection efforts within collection software.
• Utilize SAP approximately 20% of the time (training provided).
• Use Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP functions, to manage and analyze financial data.
• Collaborate with internal departments and communicate effectively with employees at all organizational levels.
• Maintain collection benchmarks and work to keep accounts as current as possible.
• Provide and receive feedback constructively to support team and individual performance goals.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in Accounts Receivable, Collections, or Billing required.
• Experience with B2B collections strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including:
• Pivot Tables
• VLOOKUPs
• SAP experience preferred but not required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to confidently handle collection conversations and make sound decisions.
• Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
