Targeted Legal is partnering with a highly respected, founder-led litigation practice with more than 40 years of national trial experience. This boutique practice handles sophisticated, high-value matters across jurisdictions, with a particular focus on oil and gas litigation, fraud and RICO matters, trust litigation, family business disputes, and white-collar investigations. The firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to work directly with its founder and sole attorney in a temp-to-hire capacity.

Position Overview

This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned litigation paralegal who enjoys working closely with an experienced trial attorney and taking ownership of sophisticated litigation files. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of complex litigation experience, be highly tech-savvy, and have the ability to independently manage substantial document collections, exhibits, discovery materials, and trial-support responsibilities.

Because this is a lean, founder-led practice, the paralegal will play a critical role in keeping matters organized and moving forward. The attorney handles case strategy, pleadings, and trial work, while the paralegal serves as a key partner in managing the extensive litigation support and document needs behind those matters.

The practice handles high-value cases, often involving significant financial stakes, large-scale document productions, and extensive deposition activity across the country. The attorney travels frequently for depositions and trials, making responsiveness, reliability, and the ability to quickly locate and deliver case materials particularly important.

Key Responsibilities

• Litigation Support: Manage complex litigation files, discovery, and case materials.
• Document Management: Organize large document productions and utilize Relativity, ViewPoint, and Marathon.
• Exhibit Management: Prepare and maintain large exhibit sets and hyperlinked indexes for depositions and trial.
• Deposition & Trial Support: Assist with preparation, exhibits, document retrieval, and trial-related needs across jurisdictions.
• Document Retrieval: Quickly locate and provide case materials, including during attorney travel.
• Research & Citation Review: Conduct document research and perform Bluebook and citation checking.
• Client Support: Assist with occasional client communications and meetings.
• Case Administration: Handle case organization, billing-related tasks, and approximately five hours of administrative work per week.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of litigation paralegal experience, with complex litigation required.
• Proficiency with Relativity and experience with ViewPoint and Marathon.
• Experience managing large document productions and extensive exhibit sets.
• Strong deposition and trial preparation experience.
• Excellent Bluebook and citation-checking skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly tech-savvy with strong attention to detail.
• Able to work independently, follow direction, and maintain established processes.

Compensation & Work Environment

• $100,000-$110,000 + firm bonus based on performance
• No health benefits are provided
• Work Arrangement: Hybrid, with approximately 1–2 days per week in the office
• Employment Structure: 6-month temp-to-hire opportunity.
• Billable Expectations: Approximately 1,100–1,200 billable hours annually.
