The Chassis Painter III at Frazer reports to the Paint Shop Manager, and is responsible for preparing, painting, and finishing chassis to meet Frazer's quality, safety, and production standards in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. - Safely remove exterior and interior components (trim, doors, panels, hardware, lighting, accessories) from chassis or vehicles prior to paint
- Tag, label, and store removed components to ensure accurate reinstallation
- Protect sensitive components, wiring, and surfaces during teardown
- Support surface preparation activities as needed (masking, sanding, cleaning)
- Reinstall removed components according to specifications and work instructions
- Ensure proper alignment, fit, torque, and function of all reinstalled parts
- Identify and report paint defects, damage, or fitment issues prior to final assembly
- Verify all fasteners, seals, and hardware are properly installed
- Follow standard work instructions, paint prep checklists, and reassembly procedures
- Perform self-inspections to ensure workmanship meets quality standards
- Document completed work and report defects or concerns through the appropriate system
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce rework and paint-related defects
- Adhere to all safety policies, PPE requirements, and environmental regulations
- Maintain a clean, organized work area before and after tasks
- Properly handle tools, chemicals, and materials used in paint prep and reassembly
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to understand verbal and written instructions
- 1-2 years of experience in the automotive paint industry or a combination of education and experience
- Experience working in a team-based production setting
