Executive Paralegal

JDKatz, P.C. is a boutique law firm practicing across business law, real estate, corporate advisory, tax, and estate and trust matters. We are seeking a detail-driven paralegal to support active matters from intake through resolution across these practice areas. You will work closely with the principal attorney and cross-train with our Intake Coordinator, owning the legal and administrative backbone of our caseload — research, drafting, deadlines, and client follow-through. This is a high-trust role for someone who is organized, discreet, and comfortable holding moving parts together across both transactional and litigation work. Overview Duties Calendar coordination - Manage attorney and case calendars in partnership with the Intake Coordinator, scheduling consultations, closings, hearings, and filing deadlines. Client communication - Serve as a point of client contact (cross-trained with the Intake Coordinator), fielding questions, delivering status updates, and maintaining a responsive, professional client experience. Legal research - Research across the firm’s practice areas: business law, real estate, corporate advisory, tax, and estate and trust matters. Document preparation - Draft, assemble, and proofread transactional and litigation documents: contracts, entity formation and governance materials, real estate closing documents, trust and estate instruments, tax-related filings, pleadings, and correspondence. Case management - Own active files end-to-end, keeping records complete, organized, and deadline-compliant. Litigation monitoring - Track court deadlines, filings, and procedural requirements across litigation matters. Client compliance - Ensure clients meet their document, disclosure, and procedural obligations on schedule. Qualifications Strong foundation in law with experience supporting matters in areas such as business, tax, litigation, or trusts and estates. Proficiency in legal document preparation, including drafting pleadings, motions, contracts, correspondence, and discovery materials. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, attorneys, and external stakeholders. Research skills, including legal research using online databases and factual research to support case strategy and document preparation. Experience with document review, organization, and management of case files, including electronic document management systems. 3+ years of paralegal or legal assistant experience in a law firm or in-house legal department; prior experience as an executive or senior paralegal is preferred. Paralegal certificate or associate’s/bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies, legal studies, or a related field; advanced training or certifications are a plus.
