Description

• Assess a broad spectrum of patients, encompassing pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics through the use of standardized tests and observational assessment methods.
• Create tailored therapy plans targeting both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, and swallowing goals.
• Implement individualized speech therapy strategies focused on language, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing techniques.
• Team up with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and physicians while collaborating with caregivers and families to foster a comprehensive approach to care.
• Educate patients and families to ensure progress continues beyond the therapy room.
• Occasionally conduct inpatient assessments and therapies, ensuring a seamless continuum of care throughout the patient's therapeutic journey.
• Document all patient interactions thoroughly and timely, adhering to federal, state, and organization regulations.
• Commit to professional development by staying informed about the latest advancements in the field through continuing education opportunities.

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet certified by ASHA.

Certifications

• Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
• Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days post-employment.
