About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a 13-week contract opportunity in Carbondale, Illinois. The Respiratory Therapist will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate respiratory care for patients while collaborating closely with physicians, nursing staff, and other members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, patient education skills, and the ability to adapt respiratory care plans based on patient response and clinical outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and plan, implement, and evaluate appropriate respiratory therapy interventions.

• Provide respiratory treatments and procedures as ordered by physicians while maintaining communication with medical and nursing staff.

• Monitor patient response to therapy and modify respiratory care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.

• Educate patients and families regarding respiratory conditions, treatment procedures, equipment, and discharge-related care.

• Support clinical staff and students through knowledge sharing while accepting reassignment to other appropriate units when necessary.

Requirements

• Associate's degree Required.

• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Credential Required.

• Active Illinois Respiratory Care License Required.

• Current BLS/BCLS Certification Required.

• Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification Required; Minimum 2 Years of Respiratory Therapy Experience Required.

The Registered Respiratory Therapist will provide safe, effective, and patient-centered respiratory care while supporting positive clinical outcomes across the healthcare team.
