Our systems are deployed across a wide range of land, sea and air applications, providing our aerospace, defense and commercial customers with a distinct tactical advantage.\n \n \nIn this role, the Senior PCB Designer will design moderate to complex printed circuit board (PCB) layouts in the domain of Digital, Analog, Power & RF interconnect applications. This includes responsibility for circuit board layout conceptualization, (CAD application by means of Siemens Xpedition, Cadence Allegro & Altium tool sets), detail design activities and value-engineering in support of internal TTM programs. \n \n \nAreas of emphasis/focus include physical design (CAD implementation)/documentation utilizing best practice of electrical IPC s t andards/methodologies with experienced approach to manufacturing and sustaining maintenance of legacy design projects. Complementary support provided by a combination of TTM Management, Field Application Engineering, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering and NPI Manufacturing teams.\n \n Primary Responsibilities: \n \n Design Engineering Physical Design -\n \n \n \n PCB concept sketches for assistance in design layout estimating \n \n \n \n \n PCB design suggestions/trade-offs regarding initial engineering inputs \n \n \n \n \n Support changes to existing schematic diagrams using \n \n \n TTM suite of tools: OrCAD, Altium and/or DxDesigner\n \n \n \n Place and route components ensuring that all electrical and physical \n \n \n specifications meet the detailed design requirements for each PCB design.\n \n \n Utilization of Siemens Xpedition, Cadence Allegro and/or Altium required\n \n \n \n Participate in design reviews, interface with electrical, mechanical, \n \n \n manufacturing and process engineers to design proto-type and production \n \n \n printed circuit boards in accordance with TTM standards and\n \n \n quality procedures\n \n \n \n Collaborate on assigned projects closely with Si (Signal Integrity) \n \n \n or various engineering disciplines, fellow designers and Program\n \n \n Management\n \n \n \n Provide layout feedback to design engineers as needed to ensure \n \n \n functionality and manufacturability of PCB designs\n \n \n \n Create fabrication and assembly drawings utilizing native CAD tools and/or \n \n \n Siemens BluePrint\n \n \n \n Generate all output files (ODB++) & PCB/CCA \n \n \n documentation) required for the manufacture of the board and assembly\n \n \n \n Maintain Engineering Change (ECN) responsibilities on re-design and \n \n \n documentation updates \n \n Industry and TTM-specific electrical standards and methodologies- \n \n \n \n Product safety and EMI consideration during eCAD layout (UL, CSA, NEBS, \n \n \n Etc.)\n \n \n \n Standardization of electrical components and eCAD libraries utilizing IPC or \n \n \n vendor specific standards\n \n \n \n Exceedingly experienced with High-Speed PCB Design Constraints: \n \n \n Differential Pairs, Routing Topologies, Controlled Impedance, Length-matched\n \n \n Traces and Delay Tuning\n \n \n \n Demonstrated experience with RF PCB routing complexities. Implement \n \n \n layout rules for RF transmission lines (Micro-strip & Coplanar Waveguide),\n \n \n signal line isolation practices, via fencing & unique RF routing structures\n \n \n \n Direct design experience related to multi-layer CCA and Flex PCB \n \n \n technologies \n \n \n \n Current knowledge of µ-via/HDI layout methodologies and best practices \n \n \n \n \n Understanding of stack-up materials/construction along with impedance \n \n \n modeling requirements\n \n Qualification/Knowledge/Skills Required: \n \n \n \n Experience : Minimum of 5 years' experience with primary hands-on demonstrated proficiency of Siemen's Xpedition (VX2.14 or later), Cadence Allegro/OrCAD (17.4 or later) and/or Altium product experience is required. Comprehensive understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering design practices related to printed circuit board electrical drafting and fabrication drawing creation experience is essential. Necessary familiarities with electrical design utilizing IPC standards, IAW IPC-2221/3 and associated specs is critical. Knowledge and methodology utilizing standard IPC Class III approach to design and manufacturing concerns is also necessary. \n \n \n \n \n Education : Minimum Associates in Electrical Design/Drafting or BS in Electronic Technology. Related eCAD training certification/career experience will be considered in lieu of a degreed program with 5-10 year track record. \n \n \n \n \n Related PCB design for the Aerospace and Defense sectors is highly desirable. \n CID/CID++ Certification for PCB Designers highly recognized as professional validation of design, documentation, and manufacturability skills within the industry. \n Solid oral communication and interfacing skills with technical and manufacturing personnel to resolve engineering tasks. Propose alternatives when faced with challenging PCB design situations including resolutions to non-standard problems. \n \n \n \n \n Appropriate understanding of vendor component data sheets for creation of schematic library and/or PCB footprints expected. \n \n \n \n \n Background exposure in Valor (or similar) DFM TQ (Technical Query) report resolution from associated PCB location. Use of CAM software tools (i.e. - Siemen's CAM350, Siemens BluePrint) highly suggested. \n \n \n \n \n U.S. citizenship is required for this position due to ITAR requirements. \n \n \n Work Environment and Physical Requirements: \n \n \n \n Mental Demands: Implement personal design recommendations and see projects through to completion. Recommend and implement improvements to processes increasing efficiency. The ability to communicate effectively by telephone (or online WebEx) while in group meetings and discussions. Capacity to give and receive information accurately and efficiently on a daily basis within the team environment is necessary.
