Adjunct Professor of Success in College and Life (High School Concurrent) The adjunct faculty member will teach concurrent students on area high school campuses. This position supports the integrity of curricula, promotes student success, and aligns with the College mission. Responsibilities Instruct courses as agreed with the dean/chair/coordinator; ensure clear course objectives, prepared and relevant class activities, effective presentations of learning materials, fair and understandable grading practices (credit classes only), timely responses to students, and a positive classroom environment. Travel to area high schools to teach concurrent high school students. Participate in assessment of student learning outcomes for the program and/or department. Respond in a timely fashion to information requests from program, division, and College administrators and students (generally within 24 hours Monday–Friday, 48 hours on weekends). Maintain accurate and timely attendance and grade book records. Attend department, division, and College meetings as required. Acquire new knowledge and skills as appropriate for the academic discipline. Satisfy objectives for mutually agreed upon special assignments. Support the College’s vision, mission, goals, and priorities. Minimum Qualifications Master’s degree (minimum). In-person teaching experience in secondary and/or higher education. Ability to use electronic databases for scholarly research. Ability to travel to area high schools to teach concurrent high school students. Ability to access and autonomously implement technology relevant to the course, including Zoom and the learning management system (Moodle). Working Conditions General physical requirements: sedentary work; may require lifting up to 10 pounds. Frequent movement within classrooms and interaction with students, faculty, and staff. Frequent use of computer and office equipment; repetitive motions of hands and wrists. Indoor classroom or office setting. Required Training Online instructor training. LMS instructor training. Work Hours This position requires in-person teaching during a high school workday (7:30 am – 4:00 pm) for the duration of an academic semester. The class is a 3-credit hour class that may meet either two or three days per week on-site at a high school in the Oklahoma City area.
