Compliance Attorney

Our client is a top asset management firm seeking a high caliber Compliance Attorney to their first in class Legal & Compliance program. This is a high-impact opportunity for a talented attorney or sophisticated compliance professional to take on a visible role within a well-established legal and compliance platform. The position offers broad exposure across strategic, transactional, and operational matters, with regular partnership alongside senior compliance leadership and key stakeholders across investment, client, finance, operations, and portfolio support functions. The successful candidate will be entrusted with meaningful responsibility, a wide-ranging mandate, and the chance to influence how legal and regulatory expectations are translated into practical, business-facing solutions. Key Responsibilities Serve as a key contributor to the execution and continued enhancement of the compliance program supporting a sophisticated global investment platform, with exposure to both U.S. and international regulatory considerations. Work closely with senior compliance leadership on matters that carry meaningful visibility across the organization, helping shape practical responses to evolving legal, regulatory, and business requirements. Coordinate and support regulatory filings, annual compliance program requirements, and recurring reporting obligations, ensuring a high standard of accuracy, organization, and follow-through. Play an active role in regulatory examinations, inquiries, and internal readiness efforts by organizing materials, managing review processes, and partnering with outside advisers where appropriate. Monitor relevant legal and regulatory developments, assess potential business impact, and help drive timely implementation of policy, procedural, and control enhancements. Draft and refine policies, procedures, and governance documentation that support a strong control environment while remaining practical for business stakeholders. Advise internal teams on regulatory expectations, compliance risk considerations, and cross-border issues, bringing a solutions-oriented and commercially grounded perspective. Review external-facing materials, including fundraising, marketing, and investor communications, to support compliance with applicable regulatory and disclosure standards. Support oversight of third-party relationships, investor-specific obligations, and related control processes, helping ensure consistency across documentation, approvals, and monitoring activities. Contribute to governance processes involving restricted information, expert consultations, information barriers, and access-related controls. Help design and deliver training and awareness initiatives that strengthen compliance culture and reinforce high standards across the organization. Provide legal and compliance support for strategic initiatives, product development efforts, and launches across multiple jurisdictions, offering the opportunity to work on a broad mix of high-value matters. Qualifications Juris Doctor or comparable legal training, together with at least three years of relevant experience in private practice, an in-house legal or compliance function, or a regulatory advisory setting. Strong grounding in U.S. securities laws and regulatory frameworks, including familiarity with adviser compliance, disclosure and reporting obligations, fund-related issues, and selected international considerations. Experience with private fund structures, offering and governing documents, investor eligibility or onboarding considerations, and service provider interactions is highly valued. A record of success operating in demanding, high-performance environments where legal and compliance professionals are expected to be thoughtful, responsive, and business-oriented. Excellent judgment and strong execution skills, with the ability to manage matters independently, prioritize effectively, and bring assignments to completion with limited oversight. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complex legal or regulatory concepts into clear, actionable advice for senior stakeholders. Comfort navigating a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities, shifting demands, and a broad range of subject matter. A practical and commercially minded approach, with the credibility and interpersonal skills to build trusted relationships across a diverse organization. Additional exposure to registered products, board-related matters, governance processes, or service provider oversight is a plus.
