The Installation Helper works alongside lead technicians to support the installation of fireplaces and related components. This role provides an extra set of hands on site, assisting with a wide variety of tasks that change from day to day depending on the project and its stage. Responsibilities

• Assist lead technicians with fireplace installations and related tasks as a reliable right-hand support.
• Move, carry, and position materials and equipment needed for installation work.
• Hold and stabilize materials and components during installation to ensure accuracy and safety.
• Use hand tools and power tools to help with installation activities under the guidance of the lead technician.
• Climb ladders as needed to access work areas safely and efficiently.
• Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Follow instructions from the lead technician and adapt to changing duties based on the project and its stage.
• Support a variety of installation tasks that can change daily, rather than performing repetitive, routine work.
• Adhere to safety procedures and best practices on job sites, including proper use of tools and equipment.
• Meet at the shop each day and ride with the lead technician to job sites as scheduled.
• Demonstrate a strong work ethic, eagerness to learn, and willingness to take on physically demanding tasks.

Essential Skills

• Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools in a hands-on environment.
• Experience working in construction or in a skilled trade, such as installation work.
• Ability to use hand tools safely and effectively to assist with installation tasks.
• Comfort and capability with heavy lifting, including lifting up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Ability to climb ladders as needed and work safely at varying heights.
• Willingness to work Monday through Friday with typical days of 8–10 hours and openness to overtime when needed.
• Interest in a non-routine role where duties and tasks can change from day to day.
• Strong desire to learn, work hard, and support lead technicians in the field.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in a specific trade such as plumbing or pipefitting is a plus.
• Any safety-related certifications, such as OSHA training, are a plus.
• Technical training in construction, installation, or related fields is beneficial.
• Comfort using power tools in addition to hand tools is an advantage.
• Capability and prior experience with heavy lifting in a work setting are preferred.
• Ability to obtain a valid driver’s license within the first year of permanent employment, even though it is not required initially.

Work Environment

The role is field-based and hands-on, with each workday starting at the shop where you meet the lead technician and ride together to the job site. Standard hours are Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, with typical workdays lasting 8–10 hours and the possibility of extending to 6:00 am to 6:00 pm during busy periods; Saturday work is uncommon. The work involves active installation environments where you will regularly use hand tools and power tools, move materials, climb ladders, and perform heavy lifting. Safety is a priority, and employees can receive reimbursement for safety shoes or prescription safety glasses, reflecting an emphasis on protective equipment and safe work practices. The position suits individuals who enjoy a changing, non-routine workday and are comfortable working in varying job site conditions alongside experienced technicians.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nashville, TN.

The pay range for this position is $21.50 - $21.50/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
