This on-site social worker opportunity is suited for professionals passionate about mental health and special education services, available for the upcoming academic year through late spring.
You will primarily focus on delivering mental health services to students with a range of needs, including mild to moderate, affective, and significant support needs, as outlined in their IEPs. There is a preference for candidates with a background in special education, and flexibility is offered for those with either school social worker or school psychologist certification.
Qualifications and Experience
- Valid Colorado Department of Education Special Services License with Social Worker Endorsement
- Prior experience in schools, particularly supporting special education (SPED) programs, is highly valued
- Comfortable working within the framework of IEP interdisciplinary teams
- Ability to serve a diverse student population with varying service minutes and support requirements
- Skilled in building rapport with both students and staff
- Commitment to fulfilling time-sensitive credentialing and contract packet requirements before onboarding
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group social work services to high school students
- Document and track mental health interventions within IEP requirements
- Collaborate with school psychologists, educators, and other specialists to tailor support plans
- Participate in meetings and case reviews as part of the broader student support team
- Deliver culturally sensitive care to students and families
