Embark on a fulfilling contract opportunity as a School Social Worker supporting high school students near Littleton, CO. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of adolescents by delivering essential mental health services in an educational setting, focusing on students with varied support needs.
Your main assignment will involve serving one high school campus from now through late May 2027, working a steady 37.5 hours each week. The school environment is collaborative and values professionals with a passion for enhancing student well-being. Candidates with experience supporting Special Education (SPED) students are highly encouraged to apply, as the caseload will include those with mild to moderate needs, as well as students in Affective Needs and Significant Support Needs programs. Flexibility exists for individuals with either school social work or psychologist backgrounds.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Colorado Department of Education Special Services Provider License with a Social Worker Endorsement
- Previous experience in a school-based role supporting students’ social, emotional, or mental health needs
- Familiarity with IEPs and specialized services for students with special education needs, including mental health interventions
- Ability to complete district credentialing requirements quickly; timely submission of a district contract packet is required
- Strong communication skills and commitment to collaborative multidisciplinary teamwork
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver mental health support and social-emotional services to high school students as outlined in their IEPs
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and support staff to develop effective student intervention strategies
- Maintain thorough documentation and uphold compliance with district and state guidelines
- Advocate for student inclusion and support within diverse classroom settings
