Research Senior Associate - Surgery

Responsibilities Investigate pancreatic cancer in a foundational biological/health science research laboratory. Collaborate with the principal investigator to develop and implement research goals and objectives. Conceptualize, design, and execute complex laboratory experiments, including advanced molecular and cellular techniques. Plan, coordinate, and oversee the processing and analysis of research data. Analyze and interpret research data to inform scientific conclusions. Develop and implement new and/or revised research methodologies and techniques. Plan and test experimental designs, sampling techniques, and analytical methods. Develop and establish research controls, criteria, and standards. Perform critical literature analysis relevant to the research. Collaborate with the principal investigator to write and prepare manuscripts, research papers, grant proposals, and reports for publication and presentation at national and international conferences, workshops, and seminars. Assist in the development, writing, and preparation of grant proposals to obtain new or renew extramural funding. Identify and recommend potential sources of research funding. Participate in developing and managing grant budgets and monitoring expenses. Enforce laboratory safety procedures, ensuring compliance with OSHA, local, state, and federal regulations, and proper disposal of regulated materials. Train and supervise research staff and manage daily laboratory operations. Oversee procurement of laboratory supplies and equipment, providing technical assistance and supervision of equipment usage. Negotiate and oversee equipment service contracts and repairs. Minimum Required Qualifications Master’s Degree or equivalent experience. 3 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, or 1 year of relevant experience with a Master’s Degree.
