Payroll ClerkJob Location: South Bend, INJob Duration: 12 months (Temp to Hire)Shift: 1st shiftRole Overview: Administered all functions of the time and attendance payroll system for a union workforce, ensuring accurate payroll processing through reconciliation of employee hours, incentive pay, and production data. Partnered closely with Human Resources to ensure all payroll activities complied with union agreements, employment policies, and benefits practices.Key Requirements:Managed daily payroll operations within ADP eTime, including inputting, reviewing, and clearing timecard exceptionsCollaborated with supervisors and operators to verify employee hours, production data, and incentive pay for payroll accuracyReconciled daily payroll and production summaries, ensuring alignment between timekeeping and manufacturing systemsEntered and maintained production data in the time and attendance and manufacturing systemsPrepared shift summaries and maintained detailed spreadsheets to support operational planningTracked, documented, and processed payroll adjustments using supervisor-approved documentationResolved payroll discrepancies and responded to employee inquiries regarding timecards, pay, and adjustmentsPartnered with HR to ensure payroll processing adhered to union contracts and benefits practicesMaintained accurate tracking and reconciliation of union dues paymentsConducted payroll audits to ensure accuracy, compliance, and process integritySupported process improvement initiatives between operations and payroll to enhance efficiency and accuracyTrained and supported team members on payroll processes and system usageGenerated and distributed payroll and operational reports as neededDocumented internal payroll processes and maintained organized recordsPerformed additional administrative tasks such as label printing, static record reviews, and other assigned dutiesAssisted with basic accounting-related tasks as neededSkills:1+ years of experience with ADP e-Time or similar payroll/timekeeping systems1+ years of experience working in a union environmentAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data tracking, reconciliation, and reporting)Strong attention to detail with experience in spreadsheet-based data management and reconciliationAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet daily deadlines in a fast-paced environmentStrong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies independentlyExcellent written and verbal communication skills with employees, supervisors, and cross-functional teamsExperience in a manufacturing environment and exposure to SAP (preferred)Education:High School Diploma or equivalent requiredSome college coursework in accounting, business, or a related field preferred
