Financial Accounting Assistant

Job Title

Reporting directly to the Controller, this position within the accounting department will be directly responsible for performing support to various tasks such as financial reporting. The work in data entry, reconciliation and document management ensures the accounting department maintains precise, up-to-date financial records and complies with reporting standards. To succeed in this role, the candidate must be able to work within deadlines and juggle projects as required. This position involves providing financial, administrative, and clerical support to the organization.

Responsibilities & Duties

Specific Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:

• Assists in posting and in the maintenance of general ledger accounts and performs monthly general ledger closings and adjustments
• Assists with schedules related to monthly financial statements
• Assist with & learn all the activities of the Accounting departments
• Review monthly operating reports for accuracy, completeness, and major variances between actual and Budget results.
• Use & gain full understanding fo business software including FAMOUS ERP system, Excel, and various other agricultural softwares
• Assists with inventory reporting and costs processing
• Other duties as assigned by the CFO and/or Controller

Qualifications and Skills

Qualifications and Skills include:

• Associates Degree or Bachelor's Degree; experience may substitute for education and a year-for-year basis above the minimum experience required.
• Minimum of one (1) year of related experience in accounting software
• Proficient Excel skills
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines required
• Requires good interpersonal skills and ability to work with a diverse group of peoples successfully
• Open to the idea of learning and growing in the role
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Experience in Microsoft Office Suite products
