Assistant General Counsel

*Hybrid Schedule: 4 days in office, 1 day remote. Licenses and Certifications: Requires a law degree (JD) and membership in the State Bar of CA. Complex litigation experiences required. An Assistant General Counsel contributes to the organization by providing legal counsel and representation. The AGC performs complex legal work in areas including civil litigation (the primary focus of the work); contract and policy drafting and review; advice and counsel; and legal/regulatory compliance. The Assistant General Counsel will be a passionate advocate for organizational top initiatives. The Assistant General Counsel will work as a part of a close-knit team to respond to legal issues as assigned by the General Counsel. The AGC works with and counsels various management teams to develop business and legal strategies and solutions. The AGC will represent, as plaintiff/petitioner or defendant/respondent, in all advocacy forums, including jury and non-jury trials, arbitrations, and appeals. The AGC will prepare employees for appearances in these forums. The AGC also may draft, review, and advise on contracts, memoranda of understanding, and policies and procedures, as well as educate and train employees about those documents and related legal issues. The AGC is expected at all times to negotiate on behalf of and represent the organization in a professional and strategic manner.
