Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)- Mt Sinai Hospital Pediatrics- FT- N- EOW

Job Description The Respiratory Therapist helps patients experiencing difficulty breathing learn to use various equipment and techniques to aid in clearer and more efficient breathing. Responsibilities Demonstrate the ability, understanding, and proper utilization of nasal cannula, venti mask, USN, non-rebreather masks, changing regulators, pulse oximetry, etc. Demonstrate competence in medication and medical gas administration: proper use of metered dose inhalers, peak flow meters, oxygen, Heliox, nitric oxide, and assess patients' ongoing needs. Demonstrate competency in ETT placement, suctioning (closed and open system with sterile technique). Demonstrate ventilator and BiPAP/CPAP setup and management. Evaluate, analyze, and interpret data from diagnostic and physiologic tests. Conduct bedside testing for weaning (spirometry), use of end-tidal CO2 and peak flow meters. Use electronic medical record documentation, order sets, etc. Qualifications Associate's degree in a Respiratory Therapy program accredited by CoARC or CAAHEP. 0-2 years experience in Respiratory Therapy. Respiratory Therapist License issued by the NYS Department of Education Office of the Professions. Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care. Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by American Heart Association. Collective Bargaining Unit
