Job Duties Follow clinical laboratory testing procedures and policies during routine and specialized tests. Identify the source and nature of test problems and recommend appropriate courses of action. Apply scientific method for problem solving and assist in evaluating new methods and techniques. Ensure quality control criteria are met and adhere to laboratory policies for hazardous substances. Record necessary documentation to comply with agency and hospital regulations. Perform required instrument maintenance at prescribed times and log activities accurately. Instruct and train rotating residents, students, physicians, and new laboratory staff in testing procedures as needed. Maintain a clean work area and perform technical clean‑up at the end of each shift. Assist in maintaining sufficient supplies at each workstation. Participate in developing and evaluating new procedures and protocols. Adhere to service principles with a customer‑service focus, promoting innovation, excellence, and teamwork to deliver high‑quality care. Complete competency tests and mandatory continuing education per position requirements. Perform other assigned job functions, including competency testing coordination and documentation. Qualifications Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in chemical or biological sciences, or an associate’s degree in laboratory sciences or medical laboratory technology comprising 60 semester hours—including a minimum of 24 hours in medical laboratory technology courses or an equivalent science curriculum. Qualified as a technologist under 42CFR493.1489(b)(2)(B)(4) or 42CFR493.1489(b)(2)(B)(5)(i) for high‑complexity testing (application date on or before April 24, 1995). Meet all regulatory requirements for moderate or high‑complexity testing as appropriate within the assigned area. Detail oriented with strong multitasking abilities. Education Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology (Required). Compensation Hourly rate: $31.50–$51.50. In addition to base salary, compensation may include differentials for some hourly employees, leadership incentives for select roles, and a range of additional benefits.
