- Setting: Inpatient ICU
- Call Type: Beeper
- Response Time: 30 minutes
- Patient Volume: 25-30 patients per day
- ICU Size: 32 beds
- EMR: Cerner
- Credentialing: Approximately 14 days (Temporary Privileges Available) Clinical Details
- ICU coverage for adult critical care patients
- Manage medical and surgical critical care cases
- Ventilator management (invasive and non-invasive)
- Chest tube placement
- Evaluate ICU consults and respond to pulmonary/critical care calls
- Approximately 6-10 phone consults per shift
- Preferred procedural experience includes bronchoscopy, central and arterial lines, thoracentesis, dialysis catheters, lumbar puncture, paracentesis, temporary pacemakers, and PA catheter placement Requirements
- Board Certified/Board Eligible in Pulmonary Disease or Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine
- Active Alabama license or IMLC
- BLS
- Fellowship trained
