Senior Director of Organic Growth - AI Discovery

Develop and own strategy for brand visibility, impact, and rankings in AI search and traditional SERPs Serve as Center of Excellence for AIO, LLMs, and SEO Educate internal teams and external clients on best practices Partner with marketing, sales, client services, and product to improve AI discovery solutions Evolve on-page and off-page tactics and develop AI-based efficiency tools Own AIO and SEO reporting and vendor management Lead day-to-day growth of the AI Discovery offering, including packaging, pricing, forecasting, revenue, and profitability Translate search and AI-visibility insights into advertiser strategies and proposals Participate in sales conversations and client presentations Connect commercial commitments to delivery capacity, scope, economics, timelines, and ownership Build repeatable delivery and client-reporting practices Set portfolio-wide organic growth strategy and priorities across SEO, AEO, and GEO Diagnose performance declines and algorithm or AI-platform changes; lead recovery plans Shape technical search roadmap across crawlability, indexation, information architecture, internal linking, structured data, and site templates Run tests involving authoritative content, YouTube, social, community participation, and earned mentions Own measurement and reporting for organic performance, AI visibility, sponsorship results, delivery quality, and capacity Lead weekly operating reviews and monthly business-segment reviews Educate the company on algorithm changes, AI-search developments, tools, and opportunities Manage and develop the Organic Growth manager and publishing organization Align priorities with Content Leads and business leaders Represent the work with executives, clients, and the industry Improve publishing, quality assurance, sponsorship placement, and reporting workflows with AI and Automation Own the Organic Growth budget, tool stack, and vendor relationships Establish workflows and quality standards across scoping, publishing, and delivery Requirements Commercial ownership of a revenue-generating business, product, or service, with personal accountability for results Typically 10+ years in organic growth for a content publisher, affiliate, or lead-generation business Record of translating organic growth into business results Experience diagnosing technical issues and responding to major performance changes Practical AEO and GEO experimentation and measurement experience, using Profound or a comparable platform Working understanding of how AI Overviews and LLM answer engines select sources Ability to distinguish what AI-search evidence can and cannot prove Hands-on experience with Google Search Console, GA4, Looker Studio, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs or Semrush, and AI-visibility platforms Technical depth in crawl, indexation, structured data, and CMS platforms such as WordPress Experience leading and developing teams and managers Ability to coordinate commercial, editorial, product, and technical specialists Executive-ready narratives, client-facing presence, and concise written recommendations Comfort leading through ambiguity and organizational change Willingness and ability to work in the Playa Vista, CA office every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in developing and executing organic growth strategies, particularly in AI search and SEO, while effectively managing teams and vendor relationships.
