Job Title: Brazing Machine Operator Job Description

This role focuses on building and preparing specialized systems that power aircraft equipment on the ground. You will assemble piping, mechanical parts, and electrical components for pre-conditioned air (PCA) systems, perform brazing and plumbing tasks on HVAC and copper assemblies, and ensure all work meets engineering and quality standards. The position combines hands-on mechanical work, reading and interpreting technical drawings, and performing testing and troubleshooting in a modern, climate-controlled facility.

• Assemble piping, mechanical parts, and electrical components for PCA systems by following engineering drawings, blueprints, and detailed work instructions.
• Perform brazing tasks on copper assemblies to create secure, leak-free connections for HVAC and related systems.
• Carry out plumbing tasks to connect HVAC systems and associated piping in accordance with specifications and safety standards.
• Set up equipment and workstations required for brazing, assembly, and testing activities.
• Perform testing and troubleshooting on assembled systems to verify proper function and identify any issues.
• Verify the quality of completed work against schematics, blueprints, and established procedures, and make corrections as needed.
• Use basic hand tools, power tools, and test equipment safely and effectively during assembly, brazing, and testing operations.
• Interpret and apply information from blueprints, engineering drawings, and schematics to ensure accurate assembly and installation.
• Follow safety procedures and guidelines at all times, including proper use of measurement tools and personal protective equipment.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to resolve technical issues and continuously improve processes and product quality.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to support efficient and safe operations.
• Participate in company-provided training, including brazing and welding certification programs, to develop and enhance technical skills.

• At least 6 months of relevant experience in assembly, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or similar hands-on work, or a high school diploma or equivalent education.
• Ability to perform brazing tasks on copper or similar materials, or willingness to complete company-provided brazing certification training.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and detailed work instructions.
• Basic troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve issues during testing and assembly.
• Familiarity with electrical components and basic electrical concepts relevant to equipment assembly.
• Basic plumbing skills related to piping and HVAC system connections.
• Mechanical aptitude for assembling parts, components, and systems in a production environment.
• Experience using basic hand tools, power tools, and test equipment safely and effectively.
• Familiarity with basic measurement tools (such as tape measures, calipers, or gauges) and the ability to take accurate measurements.
• Knowledge of and adherence to safety procedures in a production or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and work from schematics and procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

• High school diploma or equivalent education is preferred when combined with hands-on mechanical or assembly experience.
• Experience working with HVAC systems, including piping and copper assemblies, is a plus.
• Exposure to production or manufacturing environments with a focus on mechanical and electrical assembly.
• Experience with repair or maintenance of mechanical or electrical equipment.
• Interest in developing brazing and welding skills through formal training programs.
• Willingness to participate in a 6-week paid aluminum welding training program at a technical college prior to on-the-job training.
• Comfort working with blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with others.

You will work in a brand-new, climate-controlled facility designed for comfort and efficiency. The standard schedule runs Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., providing a consistent daytime shift with three-day weekends. The environment is hands-on and production-focused, where you will regularly use basic hand tools, power tools, and test equipment to assemble and test mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems. Safety procedures are emphasized, and you will use measurement tools and follow established guidelines to ensure safe and accurate work. The facility supports a collaborative, team-oriented atmosphere where you can apply and develop your technical skills in a modern, well-organized workspace.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Murfreesboro, TN.

The pay range for this position is $22.92 - $26.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
