Travel Healthcare Job Details

• Position: General/Pediatric Ultrasound Technologist and Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
• Shift Duration: 8-hour day shifts
• Schedule: Variable daytime scheduling; assignment details indicate approximately 28 hours per week. Example shifts include 8:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. and 10:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m., with final times coordinated during the interview process.
• Call: No routine call expected
• Weekends: Up to four weekend shifts may be required during the assignment
• Additional Scheduling: Up to three weeks of night-shift coverage and holiday availability may be needed based on unit requirements
• Floating: Main ultrasound unit, emergency department, portable imaging, operating room, and intensive care areas

Ultrasound Technologist Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of applicable ultrasound or diagnostic medical sonography experience
• Required pediatric facility experience, including at least 6 months of pediatric experience or equivalent combined pediatric and children’s hospital experience
• Current ARDMS certification in Abdomen (AB) required
• Current BLS certification
• Vascular procedure and ultrasound procedure experience
• Experience with portable, inpatient, emergency department, PICU, NICU, and neonatal imaging
• Ability to perform general, pediatric, and vascular ultrasound examinations, including venous studies, renal artery duplex, thyroid, testicular/scrotal, superficial mass, breast, and pediatric examinations
• Additional credentials such as ARDMS Pediatric Sonography (PS), ARDMS Fetal Echocardiography (FE), RVT, or RDCS are preferred
• Experience with Epic and RadNet is preferred

General and Pediatric Ultrasound Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality general, pediatric, and vascular ultrasound examinations for neonates, infants, and pediatric patients
• Complete Doppler studies, lower- and upper-extremity venous studies, renal artery duplex examinations, and other vascular procedures
• Provide portable diagnostic imaging services in the ICU, emergency department, operating room, and other inpatient areas
• Support diagnostic imaging for conditions including appendicitis, testicular concerns, transplant-related care, DVT evaluation, and post-line placement assessment
• Work with patients across emergency, inpatient, intensive care, neonatal, and outpatient settings as assigned
• Float between designated clinical areas while maintaining patient safety, image quality, and compassionate pediatric care
• Document examinations accurately in the applicable electronic medical record and imaging systems
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, technologists, and other members of the multidisciplinary care team
