Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to adult patients in a fast-paced, 24/7 emergency department setting. Utilize advanced clinical skills to stabilize and treat patients with various acute conditions, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and prioritize patient acuity to develop and implement appropriate care plans.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and interventions such as ventilator management and central line care.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, interpret dysrhythmias, and respond to emergency situations promptly.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in EPIC electronic health records.
• Float within skillset to other ED units as needed, maintaining flexibility during shift coverage.

Qualifications:

• Active New York Single State RN license; NY is not a Compact state.
• Minimum of 1 year of emergency nursing experience in adult patient care.
• Proficient in EPIC charting system and IV therapy, including blood product administration.
• Valid BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications required.
• Demonstrate strong skills in trauma, neuro, cardiac, and emergency pediatric care.
• Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure environment with excellent critical thinking skills.
