Job Title Trial Court Research Assistant (NS) Job Information Agency: Superior Court Division, North Carolina Judicial Branch Position Number: 65034154 Grade: 32001652 Salary: $71,080.00 per year Description The North Carolina Business Court is a specialized division of the North Carolina Superior Court that handles complex civil cases at the trial level. We are seeking a qualified individual to serve as a Staff Attorney and support the court’s adjudication process. Responsibilities Assist judges in drafting orders and opinions. Assist judges with docket management. Communicate with counsel in pending cases regarding case management matters. Conduct legal research on a variety of complex legal issues. Track current developments in the law. Produce legal interpretations efficiently and responsively for court officials. Qualifications Strong interest in civil litigation. Strong analytical and writing skills. Knowledge of court rules and procedures, statutory, regulatory, and common law, ethical rules, and trial‑court practice. Familiarity with electronic legal research tools. Familiarity with Uniform Citation Rules (Bluebook). Effective written and oral communication skills. Minimum Education and Experience Juris Doctor from an accredited law school. Equivalent combination of education and experience may qualify. Required Documents Cover letter to Judge Mark A.
